Jean Harrison Russell of East Main Street, Branford, died on Thursday, Jan. 5th 2012 at CT Hospice in Branford.

Mrs. Russell was born in New Haven, CT on
March 18, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Irving Nelson and E. Marion Bradley Harrison. She was also predeceased by a sister, Ruth Harrison Laich.

Jean was the beloved mother of John (Judith) Russell of Roxbury, CT, Judith(Daniel) Janiak, Janet(Michael) Giordano, and Joanne (Paul) Montelius, all of
Branford. She was the very proud Grandma to 9 grandchildren, Michael Hunt, Joshua and Scott Bottomley, Margot Nosenzo, Meredith Jaskolka, Amanda and Christopher Giordano, and Kaylee and Andrew Montelius. She was prouder still to have lived to see her 7 great-grandchildren, Colby, Alissia and Kayla Hunt, Emma and Will Bottomley, and Jillian and Jakob Jaskolka who knew her as "GeGe".

Her happiest days were spent surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Russell was also known as "Jeannie" to the many children who passed through the doors of her home
daycare for over 20 years in the late 70s and 80s. Children were always a very large part of her life and brought her the most joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Jeans life on Thursday morning at 11:00 in the First Congregational Church, 1009 Main St. Branford. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to either CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 or to VNA Community Healthcare, 753 Boston Post Rd, Guilford, CT 06437 for which the family would like to thank for their years of very tender and loving care, particularly her nurse, Taylor Erickson and her aide and best friend, Pam Sharkey. We are forever grateful
