In Branford November 21, 2008, Esther Blesse Otten, beloved wife of the late Rev. William Otten, of 14 Rice Terrace, Branford.
Devoted mother of Rev. William (Cecelia) Otten of Rochester, Mich., Ella (Ronald) Matthias of Readlyn, Iowa, Anita (James Ramm) Otten-Ramm of Branford, Verona (Frank Pluta) Cascio of Windsor Locks, CT, and Miriam (Rev. Richard) Carter of St. Paul, MN. Sister of Verona (Roger) Lafferty of Indiana. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Martin Otten.
Mrs. Otten was born September 25, 1909 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late Franz and Marie Hedwig Koerner Blesse. She had worked as a stenographer, and along with her husband, as a missionary with the Lutheran Missouri Synod.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service Monday morning at 11:00 in Tabor Lutheran Church, Branford. Burial will follow in Tabor Cemetery, Branford.
