In New Haven June 12, 2009, Harvey C. "Bud" Anderson, beloved husband of Anne McCutcheon Anderson of 34 Pawson Landing Drive, Branford.
Father of Douglas Anderson (Tamara Shorr) of Guilford. Grandfather of Ava and Tristan Anderson. Brother of Nancy Wilcox of Guilford.
He was born December 14, 1933 in New Haven, son of the late Harvey and Grace Anderson. He served in the U. S. Army, and was a graduate of fellow of Upsala College in NJ. Since 1959 he has been the owner of Anderson-Wilcox Corp. in Branford, which constructed many homes and buildings in the greater New Haven area.
He was a past member of the Branford Rotary Club, a member and past-president of the Branford Land Trust, a member and past president of the United Way of Branford, a member and past president of the CT Home Builders Association, and was a former Police Commissioner in Branford. He was a long time member of the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club. He loved boating and being on the water in Long Island Sound.
Friends may attend a funeral service Tuesday morning at 10:00 in Bethesda Lutheran Church, 305 St. Ronan St., New Haven., and may call Monday from 4 – 8 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
