John James Farkash, SR. of 1061Foxon Road, North Branford entered into eternal rest on Wednesday February23, 2010. He was the husband of Mildred Ifkovic Farkash for 67 years.
John was born in North Branford, July 25, 1920, son of the late Joseph and Eva Farkash. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II. John retired from New Haven Trap Rock Co. in 1982 as a welder and maintenance engineer. He was extremely gifted and talented, also an inspiration to those who knew him.
Besides his wife he leaves a son John Farkash, Jr. of FL, a daughter Judith Farkash of North Branford, four sisters, Anna Ifkovic, Katherine Altrui, Eleanor Furman and Margaret Dziurgot, seven grandchildren, Richard White, Jr. and Tracie White of North Branford, Daniel, Jonathan and Nicole Farkash of FL, John Farkash, III, and Joseph Farkash of Wallingford, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Joseph Farkash Jr. and Alexander Farkash, and two sisters, Rose Haynes and Mary Ignatowski.
Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Augustine Church Saturday morning at 10 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 – 7 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford.
