At home March 10, 2010, Kenneth R. Williams of 564 Leetes Island Rd., Stony Creek.
Ken was born May 3, 1939 in Stony Creek, a son of the late Albert and Agnes Williams. He graduated from BHS in 1957, and served in the U. S. Air Force. He was in the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, was a member of Stony Creek Fire Rescue Co. 5, serving as Captain, a member of the Branford Lions Club and the Church of Christ Congregational in Stony Creek. He had worked as a mechanic at the former Wilson Ford in Branford, was the owner of Zane Auto Supply, and was a mail carrier for the U. S. Post Office.
Ken loved Stony Creek, where he had lived his entire life, excluding his military service, a True Creeker. He enjoyed working on cars and was widely recognized and sought after for his mechanical expertise, he loved talking with people and almost never walked into a room without knowing at least one person. He had a huge heart and really wanted to help people, whether through the fire department, using his mechanical skills to help someone in need, or simply volunteering to drive someone to the grocery store.
He is survived by his daughter Anne Williams of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Gustave, Trudi and Henri Aristeguieta of Cincinnati; and his sister Janet Fitch of South Russell, OH. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Williams and sister Nancy Pawlick.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service Monday morning at 11:00 in the Church of Christ Congregational, 192 Thimble Island Rd., Stony Creek. Burial will follow in Stony Creek Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 – 7 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford.
