At home March 15, 2010, Bernard J. Erickson, Jr., husband of Jean O'Connor Erickson of 53 Brushy Plain Rd., Branford.
Father of Barry (Nancy) Erickson of FL, and Kevin (Taylor) Erickson and Nancy (Jamie) Kendrick of Branford; grandfather of Caroline, Ryan, Connor and Lauren; brother of Barbara Capello of CA. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Ellen Erickson.
He was born in New Haven October 19, 1935, son of the late Bernard J., Sr. and Nellie Lipkvich Erickson. He served in the U. S. Navy. He worked as a bridge tender for over 30 years for the State of CT DOT. He was a life member of the Branford Elks Club, BPOE 1939, a member of the American Legion in Dania Beach, FL, and a member of the Moose Lodge in Hollywood, FL. He was a longtime softball player in Branford. He loved to travel and spend time with his family, and especially loved being "Poppy" to his grandkids.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday evening from 4 – 7 pm at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford, and are invited to a memorial Mass of Christian Burial Friday morning at 10:00 in St. Mary Church, Branford. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
