Guestbook for Mark J. Smith Showing 1 - 5 of 20 entries.

I just learned of Mark's passing and I am very saddened. He always made me laugh with his humor and I enjoyed conversations with him because they were always refreshingly honest. I will greatly miss him. God bless Mark and his parents, brother, and sister.

Mark, I am sitting here struggling on what to say, so help me out. I sense you are looking down and smiling at all the heartfelt emotion. Even though I haven't seen you in more than 30 years, I can vividly recall our childhood memories. I understand the struggles you and your family faced, and it's God's way of testing us daily. The obstacles you faced and your courage to the end inspires me.
Walt and Merita, Mark was not only a special gift to you, but also a gift to us all, a reminder of how precious life is. His courage and strength will teach us all.
Even though we were just neighbors, we became connected for life.
Mark, keep smiling down on us.

I consider myself lucky to have been a part of his life, even though it was for 1 week out of the summer when he came home to Fremont. I always looked forward to seeing him and going to the Islands with him and Denny. Our conversations about our "Dads adventures" when they were our age and how we stacked up story wise against theirs were always hilarious to talk about. Mark had a great laugh and it was always my top priority to get it out of him. The superman imitation on the Jet express made him cry with laughter, I will always remember that. I loved his unique twist on everyday life.

My deepest sympathy

Dear Walt, Mert, Marianne and Walter, There are numerous memories of Mark, teaching him to walk in the kitchen holding 2 close pins in each hand to balance himself how funny. All the backyard get togethers and many more. His back home love of dirt track racing. Especially our trip to Florida when Mark came for a few days. He was a fighter, never complained. Mark will be sadly missed by all that loved him. May you all find peace and comfort in all that love and care for you at this difficult time our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Love,
Barb and Dick
